Every night at 9pm, NYU gets the same question. Pick up to 3 people from your classes, your dorm, your groups and new faces. At noon you find out which picks were mutual.

9:00pm

The drop

One question for the whole campus, like who you’d study with or who you’d get food with. Pick up to 3 people. Nobody sees your picks unless they’re mutual.

11:45pm

Picks lock

Change your mind until then. If someone picked you, we tell you that much in the morning, never who.

12:00pm

The reveal

If you picked each other, you both get a Spark: a 72-hour chat with a starter question. Keep it and they become a moot.

Our promises

built to be trusted

Verified NYU students only. Every account is an @nyu.edu email, 18 or older.

Never fake picks or notifications. If we say someone picked you, someone did.

No paid reveals. Nobody can buy a look at who picked them.

At most 4 notifications a day besides your messages, and nothing between 11pm and 8:30am.

You choose who can find you. Your whole campus, or only people you share a class, dorm or group with. Pause anytime.

Delete your account anytime. Your profile, photo, picks and chats are erased right away.

your friends can’t pick you if they’re not here.

Every pick, every mutual, every “someone picked you” comes from students on Moots. Everyone who joins from your link lands in your first drop, and you’ll get a ping when they do.

Until Opening Night, a new warm-up question drops every night at 9pm.
